About me

My name is Iris, and Acia Therapy is my private practice.

I am a trainee in body psychotherapy.

Psychotherapy has always been close to the way my mind functions and a practice in which I feel natural.

Who am I?

My name is Iris.

Looking back at the beginning of my psychotherapy journey, I can’t remember exactlywhich lecture, book or workshop was a turning point in this direction – I only remember the feeling that everything made sense to me from the very beginning. Everything I learned, read and experienced while researching in numerous workshops, seemed to fall into place. And after some time, I learned this about myself – that psychotherapy has always been close to the way my mind works, and today it is an environment and practice in which I feel natural.

Throughout my education, I loved the STEM field and thought I wanted to do scientific work. Today I see that I was motivated by curiosity, and that I was always interested in why something is exactly the way it is, what lies behind it, and how it came to be. Whatever the situation, it is natural for me to think about the cause, the layer underneath, and the root of the problem. This search for what is true has been the main guiding thread for me through everything I have studied and done.

So, in addition to my studies unrelated to psychology, I decided to enroll in body psychotherapy education, where I learned in a slightly different way. Over the years, Ihave attended numerous experiential and dance workshops, where I got to know myself on a level that is not mental. I have also learned that it is not enough for us to be mentally strong in order to be satisfied, but that there are other levels, such as the emotional one, and that satisfaction comes from them being balanced. This is the main guiding thread that guides me in this practice, and my desire is to support others in finding that same thread for themselves through this work.

I graduated in Pharmacy from the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry, University of Zagreb.

During the period when I worked in a pharmacy, the part of my job that I got the most satisfaction from was consulting patients, especially when I received feedback that our conversation was really useful. I decided to take this new business step out of the desire to have more time to talk to my clients, so that we can explore and unravel deeper causes and patterns of behaviour together, and so that I can follow you in the long term.

Education

I finished a four-year education of body psychotherapy.
